Qualifications: BE or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Experience: Minimum 15–20 years of experience in Utility Operations & Maintenance


1. Role Overview

The Kenya Project Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the administration, technical operations, procurement, budgeting, financial performance, and overall operational management of Utility O&M sites. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to drive efficiency, profitability, and compliance across assigned sites.


2. Key Roles & Responsibilities

Administration & Operations

  • Monitor and take initiative on administrative, technical, procurement, budgeting, and revenue-related activities.

  • Organize reports, invoices, contracts, and financial documentation for seamless access and audits.

  • Execute administrative tasks such as billing, bookkeeping, and documentation for allocated sites.

  • Develop and maintain site budgets and ensure fiscal discipline.

  • Organize, attend, and participate in stakeholder meetings.

  • Provide a structured avenue for problem reporting, issue escalation, and customer satisfaction management.

  • Technical & Site Management

  • Ensure efficient operation and maintenance of utility systems including boiler, wastewater, and other related systems.

  • Facilitate periodic energy audits at the site to optimize performance and costs.

  • Implement maintenance techniques and troubleshooting procedures to ensure uptime.

  • Improve site profitability through operational efficiency, optimization, and cost control.

  • Support development and improvement of company processes and operational standards.


3. Accountability

The Kenya Project Coordinator is accountable for:

  • Overall operations, maintenance, administrative, and financial activities at the assigned sites.

  • Supervising and ensuring productivity of employees working under him/her.

  • Timely submission and accuracy of technical MIS, daily reports, Safety MIS, and all required documentation.


  • 4. Technical Competencies

  • Strong theoretical knowledge of utility operations, boilers, wastewater systems, and related engineering functions.

  • Understanding of Kenyan labour laws, factory rules, boiler inspection protocols, and environmental regulations.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, email communication, and professional report writing.

  • Knowledge of maintenance techniques, commissioning, troubleshooting, and plant functioning.
